5 policemen suspended over truck driver`s death

Sagar (MP): Five policemen from the city were Sunday suspended following the death of a truck driver soon after his release from police custody.

Tadil Baba and three other drivers were picked up by a police team, led by Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) BS Yadav, on suspicion of gambling from Makronia area under Padmakar police post late last night, sources said, adding all of them were allegedly beaten up by police before they were released this morning. However, Tadil Baba died after he reached the spot from where he was rounded up last night. Following the incident, Superintendent of Police (City) Pramod Sonkar placed Yadav and constables Shambu Tiwari, Bhagwan Singh, Deepak Thapa and Kishorilal under suspension till further investigations.
