While the statement of Radhe Maa was recorded in connection with the case yesterday that of other accused over last week.

"Some of the accused persons have submitted documentary evidence to support their side during their questioning by police.

"The accused, if needed, could be called again for questioning in future by the investigating office," Kandivali police station senior inspector Mukund Pawar said without taking name of Radhe Maa.

He said that police had completed recording of statements of all the seven accused in the case till last evening.

Pawar, however, refused to divulge details of the statements, saying, "(since the) investigating officer is further probing the case, sharing of details (of the statements) can harm the case."

Radhe Maa, who was granted interim pre-arrest bail by the Bombay High Court, yesterday recorded her statement for over four hours by Kandivali police following the summons issued against her in connection with the case. During the questioning, she had denied all allegations against her.

In her complaint lodged with Kandivali police earlier this month, the 32-year-old woman had accused the self-styled spiritual leader of instigating her in-laws, who are her followers, to demand dowry from her.

The complainant alleged that she had been physically and mentally harassed by her in-laws for dowry at the behest of Radhe Maa.
