Kolkata: Surisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody today backed his non-performing young lot, saying sooner than later they will deliver.
Hyderbad surrendered meekly against a clinical Kolkata Knight Riders today as the visitors` batsmen never looked like chasing a challenging target of 181.
"We have some young faces. They are learning. We got to trust them. Overtime, they will deliver. We just got to keep the faith on the younger guys." "We were just outplayed but that`s the nature of T20 cricket. It`s still early stages. We are three out of five," Moody said. Moody said it must be noted that even without explosive batsman Shikhar Dhawan they have won three out of five games. "Considering we are down with Shikhar Dhawan (finger injury), we are reasonably comfortably placed. We have a class player in Dhawan. Certainly batting will look a lot better once he`s fit." Eoin Morgan scored a blistering 29-ball 47 in the Kolkata innnigs and Moody appreciated his effort. "We got to give credit to Morgan for his special innings. It was his day today." Asked what went wrong for them, he said, "It was poor defense. I don`t want to single out one bad over. We need to learn from the mistakes in our next match." Moody however felt that the toss was crucial as KKR skipper Gambhir opted to bat. "In this situation, it`s nice to win the toss. The wicket was good. I thought it was 160-odd wicket but never a 180-plus wicket. There`s a lot of talk about the wicket as they have one of the world`s best spinner in Narine who tends to challenge people. That`s why it looks a bit exaggerated." PTI
