New Delhi: The Centre today said it has received over 27,000 public grievances last year from different states.

"Of the total 27,272 complaints, a highest of 4,976 were received from Tamil Nadu, followed by 2,791 from Maharashtra, 2,788 from Uttar Pradesh, 2,495 from Delhi and 1,716 from Andhra Pradesh," Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions V Narayanasamy told the Lok Sabha in a written reply.

Besides, 1,439 such complaints were received from Kerala, 1,414 from West Bengal, 1,084 from Haryana, 1,065 from Rajasthan and 1,025 from Gujarat, he said.

The complaints were received through 'Sevottam' - a service excellence model for improvement in public service delivery - developed under a Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) by Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances.

"CPGRAMS is a web based portal, enabling citizens for lodging grievances from any geographical location and also viewing the status of redressal of grievance," Narayanasamy said.

A total of 6,042 public grievances have been received between January and March this year, he said, adding that the government has got 15,228 such complaints in 2010.

Pravinbhai sheth, senior citizen - Ankleshwar, Gujarat
we request UPA Govt. to restore the respect and gesture of senior citizens, as prior to 14 September 2006, there was a provision of three SENIOR CITIZENS in DIST. LEVEL ENVIRONMENT PUBLIC HEARING COMMITTEE ( A PUBLIC CONSULTATION PROCESS ) CHAIRED BY DISTRICT COLECTOR, BUT SORRY TO SAY THAT AFTER 14 SEPTEMBER 2006, THIS GESTURE SEATS ARE REMOVED, REASON NOT KNOWN! IT WAS A GOOD PROVISION AS KNOWLEDGEABLE SENIOR CITIZENS WERE EXTENDING THEIR VALUABLE IN PUTS TO ENVIRONMENT PUBLIC HEARINGS TOWARDS ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION..

I have lodged around 20 complaints, except one there was no result till to day. In the past I could lodge, registered complaint of the State issue, to day, ( 6th June 2012). I find that the State issue is not accepting showing error in the system.
