Ferguson backs De Gea to shine for United

London: Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is convinced beleaguered goalkeeper David de Gea will go on to become an Old Trafford great.

De Gea`s detractors had slammed him for committing too many errors and being inconsistent in his performances for United. He was bought for 18 million pounds from Atletico Madrid and he lost his place in the squad to Anders Lindegaard last month. "The boy has got a great talent.
