Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Sunday greeted Karnataka Chief Minister-designate Siddaramaiah for the "commendable victory" in the Assembly polls and wished him a successful tenure.
"I congratulate you on your commendable victory in the recently concluded Assembly elections in Karnataka and convey my best wishes to you for a successful tenure as the Chief Minister of Karnataka," Jayalalithaa said in a letter, a copy of which was released to media here.
Congress routed BJP in the recent polls securing 121 seats and Leader of the Opposition in the outgoing assembly Siddaramaiah has been elected leader of the Congress Legislature Party.
Siddaramaiah is slated to be sworn tomorrow.
