Six Sri Lankan fishermen held for straying into Indian waters

Sri Lankan fishermen were on Tuesday arrested by Coast Guard personnel for allegedly fishing in Indian territorial waters off this town.



Nagapattinam (TN): Sri Lankan fishermen were on Tuesday arrested by Coast Guard personnel for allegedly fishing in Indian territorial waters off this town.

Personnel onboard a coast guard patrol vessel found the six fishing in Indian waters off Nagapattinam coast and detained them, Fisheries Joint Director Subburaj said.

They would be brought here and produced before a court for remand, the official added.
