Hyderabad: Chennai Super Kings bowling coach Andy Bichel on Tuesday said the crushing defeat against Mumbai Indians has hurt their players badly but they are determined to bounce back as they prepare to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday.
Mumbai had shunted out Chennai for a mere 79, their lowest total this season, in their previous match.
"It`s probably the loss we needed. It has put us in position of working hard and fight the way we have won seven matches in a row," he told reporters after team`s practice session at the Rajiv Gandhi international stadium. "We have fantastic players in our team. They play with lot of pride. Losing to Mumbai this way hurt them pretty badly. That is challenge for us to bounce back tomorrow," he added. Chennai chief coach Stephen Fleming had said that the defeat was a wake-up call for his side. Bichel said their schedule is such they hardly get time to recover but did not complain. "We are either on road or training. It has been pretty intense for us, which is good because it kept momentum but at the same time boys getting a little bit tired as well," he said. PTI
