Noida: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers have called for `Noida bandh` on Monday to protest against the brutal murder of party leader Vijay Pandit in Noida last week.
The BJP workers have called for bandh demanding arrest of Pandit`s killers.
"The workers will assemble in Sector 19 at around 10:30 am and will then proceed to implement the `Noida bandh` by closing shops and blocking traffic," spokesperson of the Gautam Buddha Nagar unit of BJP Vinod Sharma reportedly said.
The protests were held in Greater Noida and Noida area by party workers yesterday demanding immediate arrest of killers.
The shocking murder took place last week after the BJP leader was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on motorcycle. Pandit was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
His wife Geeta alleged that the murder took place at the behest of Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Narinder Bhati, who denied the allegation.
Pandit`s family members have demanded CBI inquiry into the incident.
