Opposition parties seek CBI probe into woman`s death

Questioning police`s theory in the murder of a woman in Mohanlalganj area here, opposition parties on Sunday reiterated her family`s demand for a CBI inquiry into the matter.

Lucknow: Questioning police`s theory in the murder of a woman in Mohanlalganj area here, opposition parties on Sunday reiterated her family`s demand for a CBI inquiry into the matter.
Bhartiya Janta Party said that it agreed with the demand of the family members for a CBI inquiry into the incident.
"The party agrees with the demand of the family members. If they feel that police investigation in not fair then there is no harm in getting the case probed by an independent agency like CBI," BJP spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak said.
He said that even in Badaun double rape and murder case the state government recommended a CBI inquiry.
Congress also reiterated the demand saying the theory given by police is not believable.
"The theory given by police is not believable. It first said that it was a matter of gangrape and now it is terming to be committed by a single person," senior Congress leader and MLA Akhilesh Pratap Singh said.
He said that if the family members were demanding then the state government should recommend CBI inquiry.
Unsatisified with police theory, family members of the woman have demanded a CBI probe into the matter.
Police had earlier today arrested a security guard deployed at an under-construction apartment site identified as Ram Sewak (38) for the brutal murder and attempt to rape of the woman, a mother of two, whose body was found inside a primary school in Balsingh Kera area of Mohanlalganj tehsil in Lucknow on July 17.
