Watch: Agra woman fights back after she was winked at by SP leader’s gunner

Agra: A 23-year-old Agra girl has become a rage on social media after a video of her taking on an eve-teaser went viral on the internet.

Meet Sadhvi Pandey, the gutsy woman who courageously took on the gunner of a Samajwadi Party functionary after he winked at her at a busy traffic intersection.

The incident happened on Sunday evening when Sadhvi and her sister were going to see a doctor on a scooty. They stopped at a traffic signal alongside the cavalcade of Samajwadi Party’s Abhinav Sharma.

All hell broke loose after Sharma’s gunner reportedly winked at Sadhvi Pandey. Reacting aggressively, she jumped on to Sharma’s Mercedes car and tore off the party flag fixed on the bonnet and used it to break the windshield.

The two-minute video also shows her daring Sharma and his gunner to come out and face her. Sharma is said to be an aspiring MLA. Some other members of Sharma’s security details – who were travelling in a separate car – came out to challenge the woman but decided to play it safe as a huge crowd had gathered at the spot. The woman’s phone was damaged in the tussle.

The cops came a while later and dispersed the crowd but the woman refused to climb down from the car demanding an apology from the gunner and money for her damaged phone. The matter was settled after she was paid Rs 6,500, reports said.

Speaking about the incident, Sadhvi Pandey said, "I didn't know who the person was, their father came and apologized...We don't want to defame him or his party. the matter is over for us."

"I don't trust UP police at all, when I told them what happened they said they cant do anything," she said.

Defending himself, Sharma said, “If she would have told me that my gunner had misbehaved I would have beaten up but she resorted to violence even as I tried to talk to her...what I could have done?”

“She has maligned me without any reason, she also damaged my car...what I do other than sitting in my car and watch, he added.

Sharma also said that he has sacked his gunner despite his pleas that he had done no wrong. As per Sharma, the gunner said that the issue was not about winking at Sadhvi but about an altercation that erupted after her two-wheeler scrapped the Mercedes.

On its part, the Samajwadi Party chose to distance itself from Sharma. "There is no leader by the name of Abhinav Sharma in SP," said party leader Naresh Agarwal.

SP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia added: "Whoever is guilty will be punished, we are looking into the entire thing."
