Kolkata: A pedestrian was killed after
being knocked down by a CTC bus here Monday night, triggering mob
protest and subsequent lathicharge by police.
The 45-year-old man died in a hit-and-run incident at
Rajabazar crossing around 9:45 pm, following which a mob
gathered at the spot and blocked APC road, disrupting traffic
movement.
The mob also pelted stones at the police team, which
rushed to the spot, prompting the personnel to batoncharge the
crowd.
Traffic movement resumed after some time.
