Three killed in clash in West Bengal

Malda (WB): Three persons were killed and six others injured in a clash during anti-erosion work of the Farakka Barrage Project at Simultala here in the district on Saturday, police sources said.

Guns, bombs and sharp weapons were used during the clash between two groups of local people over commission being paid for the work, the sources said. The three dead were identified as Rashid, Sentu and Akkel. The injured were admitted to the health centre at Bedrabad, they said. Superintendent of Police Kalyan Mukherjee was at the spot. PTI
