Ferguson says Man U ready to counter ‘new-look’ Chelsea

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said Chelsea would be a challenge for them in the coming season, but added that United is ready for any kind of challenge.

London: Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said Chelsea would be a challenge for them in the coming season, but added that United is ready for any kind of challenge.
Chelsea is expected to take their summer spending past 60 million pounds this week after they sign Brazil midfielder Oscar. The Blues have already added Eden Hazard and Marko Marin to their squad this season. But Ferguson, who himself is working to wrap up a 26 million pound move for Brazil winger Lucas Moura, believes United is not sitting idle either, and is working to get its target players to Old Trafford. “Chelsea’s owners have got their enthusiasm back after winning the Champions League, there’s more expectation on them now. That was the trophy Roman Abramovich always wanted, so he’s invested in the team again this summer,” The Daily Star quoted Ferguson, as saying. “It’s a challenge for us, and we always respect Chelsea. You just have to wait and see how good these players are. We’re not lying on our backsides doing nothing – we’re trying hard to bring other players to the club,” he added. ANI
