New Delhi: Alia Bhatt, who was filming 'Brahmastra' in Bulgaria with Ranbir Kapoor, had injured her shoulder while shooting and her arm has been put in a sling. However, despite her injury, she insisted on continuing her shoot.

On Thursday, her mother and actress-filmmaker Soni Razdan told the Asian Age that the 25-year-old actress has damaged her ligament. "She has injured her shoulder in an action sequence in Bulgaria. Alia being Alia is taking it ‘on the chin’ or ‘on the shoulder’ as it were in this case. The early reports suggest some ligament damage and a haematoma, so she must rest the shoulder for some time now and not do any more action. Apart from this, she is her usual smiling self," Razdan said.

As per a report, the injury means that Alia will have to stay away from doing action sequence for next two years. It's been a while since Alia and Ranbir Kapoor have been working on Brahmastra in Bulgaria. The duo has been preparing for high-octane action sequences for the film.

This was the first schedule of Brahmastra and the team was supposed to wrap up the shoot and return to India by the end of this month.

'Brahmastra' is being directed by Ayan Mukerji and co-stars Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy. Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, the film is scheduled to release on August 15.

Apart from 'Brahmastra', Alia's upcoming releases include Meghna Gulzar's 'Raazi' in which she is paired opposite Vicky Kaushal and Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy' with Ranveer Singh.
