Armed Forces Flag Day: Defence Minister lauds SRK for supporting campaign

New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan along with filmmaker Aanand L Rai and actress Anushka Sharma appreciated the efforts and valour of the Armed Forces and were vocal about the sacrifices made by soldiers on the micro-blogging site sometime back.

The Ministry of Defence has now lauded the superstar for his effort in supporting the government's awareness campaign. SRK shared the letter he received from the ministry on Twitter and thanked Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for such an opportunity.

Shah Rukh had earlier posted a picture on December 3 where he can be seen posing with the soldiers along the director and the lead actress of his upcoming venture. SRK tweeted:

Along with the message, the actor also shared a link where contributions for the Armed Forces can be made. The Raees star along with his team not only spoke about the sacrifices made by soldiers, but also the contribution of the armed forces in the well being of the country.

The Armed Forces Flag Day is celebrated on December 7 and to commemorate it, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had launched the Armed Forces Week, appealing the countrymen to wear the Armed Forces Flag to pay respect to the soldiers, as per ANI.
