New Delhi: Ace comedian on the silver screens, Kapil Sharma is all geared up for the big screen release of his next film 'Firangi'. The venture is a period film which is set at the backdrop of British rule in the country but delves on the lighter side of it.

Amid his heavy-duty promotional spree for 'Firangi', the actor-comedian is several times asked about the infamous mid-air brawl with Sunil Grover. He has spoken on the issue several times earlier but the controversy and its side-effects refuse to die.

Pinkvilla.com quoted Kapil again talking about the ugly episode during his Delhi promotions of the film. He said, “Ask whatever you want to – negative, positive, happy or sad.”

When prodded further on whether controversies would hamper his film's business, he said, “Tell me even one actor who hasn’t faced controversies? Maine kaunsa crime kiya hai jo log nafrat karenge? (What crime have I committed for people to hate me?) See, when people love someone and something like this (controversies) happens, the criticism is also of the same level.”

He even touched upon the phase of depression in his life due to one incident. “I took the entire thing seriously and was stressing if people must have started hating me but then I also feel proud that the audience feels I am a part of them. While to other actors they (people) ask permission for a picture, with me they drag me close and take a picture.”

'Firangi' is directed by Rajiev Dhingra and stars Kapil, Ishita Dutta and Monica Gill in lead roles. The film is releasing on December 1, 2017.
