New Delhi: Katrina Kaif is a popular name today but it has not been an easy ride for the desi Barie-Doll to make her mark. Katrina's co-stars have always praised her openly for her immense hard work and dedication.
Kat, who was born in Hong Kong and brought up in London and later when he moved to India and try her luck in films and modelling the tall beauty struggled her way up before reaching the top.
Recently, she shared a throwback picture of on her Facebook page with eminent Kathak dancer late Sitara Devi. Katrina learned the dance form while making her stand in the industry as dancing is an integral part of Bollywood.
Kat wrote the caption: “The amazing Sitara Devi . Was fortunate to meet her with Guru Veeru Krishna . That was our dance studio which was a tiny room where I learnt so many valuable things.”
Sitara Devi passed away on November 25, 2014, after a prolonged illness. She was 94. The noted danseuse breathed her last in Mumbai and was admitted to Jaslok hospital there.
Rabindranath Tagore after watching her performance called her the Nritya Samragini—the empress of dance.
