Sapna Choudhary's 'Hatt Ja Tau' song: Singer Vikas Kumar sues 'Veerey Ki Wedding' makers over copyright issues

New Delhi: Filmmaker Asshu Trikha's upcoming comedy-drama 'Veerey Ki Wedding' recently released a peppy dance number 'Hatt Ja Tau' featuring popular Haryanvi singer Sapna Choudhary.

While the song grabbed maximum eyeballs, another famous singer Vikas Kumar has sued the makers of the film over alleged copyright infringement. According to ANI, Vikas has claimed that he has originally sung the number and the makers did not seek prior permission before using it in the film.

The singer has sent a legal notice to the makers of 'Veerey Ki Wedding'. His lawyer told ANI, “They'll have to seek an apology from Vikas Kumar, pay him Rs 7 Crore as damages & not use the song without his permission. If they don't do this civil & criminal action will be taken against them after a week. We've also sent a complaint to Censor Board Chairman.”

It is produced by Rajat Bakshi, Pramod Gomber. 'Veerey Ki Wedding' is slated to hit the screens in March this year.
