SCORECARD» | HIGHLIGHTS» | MATCH REPORT Brief Summary The Sydney Sixers became the second Australian team, after New South Wales Blues to win the Champions League. They were tested by the Nashua Titans in the second semi-final but apart from that, they have been outstanding throughout the tournament. The Sixers take away the trophy, Lumb takes away the Golden Bat and Mitchell Starc takes away the Golden Wicket. Starc is also adjudged the Man of the Series. SYDNEY SIXERS INNINGS Over 12.3 || Score 124/0 Pretorius is brought into the attack. The explosion from Lumb continues as he smashes the first ball over deep midwicket for a SIX! Pretorius fires a short ball and Lumb powerfully pulls that as it clears the square leg boundary for another SIX! Pretorius bowls outside the off-stump and Lumb hits the winning boundary at deep backward point, that’s it The Sydney Sixers have won the Champions League Twenty20 by 10 WICKETS! What a way to clinch a trophy! They have become the second Australian team, after New South Wales Blues to win the Champions League. Pretorius gets some room outside the off-stump and he whacks that over extra-cover for a SIX! Symes reaches his half-century It has been a superb effort under pressure. Tsolekile is trying hell lot of things. He tried to play the last ball towards third man, got an edge that went left of Haddin for a boundary! He began with two dot balls.Symes drove the third ball beautifully through covers for a boundary! Symes takes a single. Tsolekile follows it with another single. Symes worked a single off the second ball. Cummins once again bowls on the pads and Tanvir times that well wide of the fielder at mid on for a couple. Every run is being cheered by the crowd! Tanvir works the last ball to mid on for no run. He gets an edge first ball that goes through second slips for a single. Symes played a cut shot that went wide of the fielder at point for a boundary! Starc bowls a perfect Yorker which was defended by Symes for no run. Starc offers some width off the last ball and Symes smacks that over covers for a cracking boundary! The home crowd loved that! He begins with a dot ball. Hazlewood offered some width next ball and Kock slashed hard at it, the ball took a leading edge and flew towards third-man where O’Keefe took an excellent catch diving away to his right. Kock is OUT! The Lions are wobbling! Neil McKenzie is the new batsman. McKenzie defends the first ball and refuses to take a single. The next ball takes an edge and falls just short of first slip. McKenzie the next ball onto the off-side. McKenzie wanted to work the next ball on the leg-side, couldn’t connect well and he hit that very high in the air and guess what Neil McKenzie is OUT! The Sydney Sixers take on the Highveld Lions in the final match of the Champions League Twenty20. Also Read: Players to watch out for! After playing a thriller against Nashua Titans in the second semi-final, the Sixers have shown that even their tail-enders have the determination and the hunger to fight till the last ball. David Wiese was the man who single-handedly demolished their star-studder bowling attack and it is yet to be seen if someone from the Lions side would want to display such brutal counter-attack. The Titans on the other hand have the home advantage. They have been the underdogs of the tournament as they didn’t have big names to boast about. But they have found new heroes in form of Gulam Bodi, Aaron Phangiso, Chris Morris who have fought for the side in each and every match.
