Table Tennis: Soumyajit Ghosh trails Liam Pitchford in three sets to two (3-2) in the men's quarter-final. Gymnastics: Scotland's Daniel Purvis wins artistic gymnastics gold in men's parallel bars. England’s Nile Wilson wins silver, with Max Whitlock picking up the bronze. New Zealand will take on South Africa for the bronze medal play-off. But for now it's Australia vs England final in women's hockey. Hockey: England qualify for the final of the women's hockey in Glasgow. They beat New Zealand 3-1 (penalty shootout) after a 1-1 stalemate in regular time. The English women will face Australia. Hockey: Lifeline for New Zealand. They need to score here to stay alive. Hockey: England lead the penalty shootout 3-1. England are one shot away from the final. Hockey: We’ve got a penalty shootout here as the match ended 1-1 between England and New Zealand. Table Tennis: 15-year-old Tin-Tin Ho and partner Liam Pitchford cause a huge shock to beat Singapore's Jian Zhan and Tianwei Feng 12-10, 11-8, 11-13, 6-11, 11-5 in their semi-final and set up an all-English final against husband-and-wife team Paul and Joanna Drinkhall, who got the better of compatriots Danny Reed and Kelly Sibley 11-5, 8-11, 5-11, 11-8, 11-8 in the other semi-final. Meanwhile, England's double gold medal-winning diver Jack Laugher, is ecstatic about celebrating Yorkshire day with gold medal.

They lead 11-5 against England. Hockey: Australia beat South Africa 7-1 in the semi-final of women's hockey. The Aussies looked ruthless. Lawn Bowls: After six ends Scotland’s four lead England 6-5 in the gold medal match of the men’s fours event. Boxing: Mandy Bujold of Canada lost to England's Nicola Adams in the Women's Flyweight. Adams will take on Michaela Walsh in the final. Bujold has to be satisfied with a bronze medal. So India gets another medal. Pinki Rani would have wanted to be in the final. It was very close indeed. Walsh got the verdict on a split decision. She is assured of a gold or a silver. Boxing: Pinki Rani lost to Michaela Walsh(NIR) by a split decision to claim bronze in Women's Flyweight. Lawn Bowls: India are leading Australia 4-2 after 3 ends in Men's Fours bronze medal match. Table Tennis: Shamini Kumaresan/Madhurika Patkar lost to Kelly Sibley/Joanna Drinkhall in the women's doubles quarters. The Indians lost the fourth set 2-11 to surrender the match. Table Tennis: India women's doubles team pulled a set back. They trail 1-2 in the quarter-final. They won the third set 11-3. Boxing: Northern Ireland’s Michaela Walsh leads Pinki Rani of India in the first of the women’s flyweight semi-finals. After two rounds the judges have Walsh narrowly ahead on the scorecards. India finish fifth in the women's hockey. They will be satisfied with their performance in the tournament. What a match! Poonam rani scores India's second goal to lead the hosts 2-1 with some 13 minutes in the final hooter. Hockey: India finally breaks the deadlock with a goal from 20-year-old Anupa Barla, and within four minutes Scotland find their equaliser. Table Tennis: However, Harmeet Rajul Desai crashes out of men's Singles competition after losing to Jian Zhan of Singapore in straight sets. Table Tennis: Sharath Kamal Achanta blanks Segun Toriola of Nigeria 4-0 in 24 minutes to book a place in the fourth round of the men's Singles competition. Table Tennis: Soumyajit Ghosh gets the better of Hu Li of Singpaore in their men's Singles third round match. He won the match in 36 mins, in four sets. And tomorrow, Sardar Singh will not take field against New Zealand in men's hockey semi-final. What a blow for India. Table Tennis: In the men's singles action, Soumyajit Ghosh, Sharath Kamal Achanta and Harmeet Rajul Desai are in play. Table Tennis: Shamini Kumaresan and Madhurika Suhas Patkar overturned the deficit to beat their Aussie opponents in the women's Double third round. But Ankita Das and Poulomi Ghatak lost their match to Malalysian pair. Hockey: In a little while, Indian women's hockey team will play hosts Scotland in the classification match for 5-6 positions. India failed to make the semi-finals after losing to South Africa in their final group match. Day 9 Table Tennis actions have begun. Indian pair of Ankita Das and Poulomi Ghatak is trailing against their Malaysian rivals in women's Doubles third round match by one to set two. And so thus the pair of Shamini Kumaresan and Madhurika Suhas Patkar against their Aussie oponents, by 0-2. Another star to make Glasgow bow is Tom Daley. Other Indian athletes will also been competing if table tennis, lawn bowls and athletics events. Besides, Ashish Kumar will continue to break new grounds in gymnastics. He has qualified for the men's Vault final. A medal will help break some shackles, considering how little importance is given to this sports. For India, with wrestling events done and dusted, the focus will now shift to boxing ring. Tonight, we will have four Indian boxers featuring in the semis of their respective categories. Day 9 of the Glasgow Games has 20 gold medals to fight for in 10 sports. Majority of those will be in the track and field events.
