Melbourne: Madonna showed her humanity by visiting the family of a French technician who lost his life while building the set for her gig at Marseille in France. The concert was immediately scrapped when Charles Criscenzo and 23-year-old Briton Charles Prow died after a crane toppled over them while they were preparing the venue for the show and a part of the stage being built at the city`s Stade Velodrome collapsed.
The singer visited the victim Criscenzo`s family in nearby Aix-en-Provence after his death to share their grief, reports Herald Sun. While performing at a concert at Udine in Italy, Madonna said that she was saddened by the incident. "Two men lost their lives, which is a great tragedy to me," Madonna told her fans as she fought back tears. "I feel so devastated to be in any way associated with anyone`s suffering. So let`s all just take a moment to say a prayer for Charles Criscenzo and Charlie Prow," she added. The singer also visited other stagehands, injured in the accident, at a hospital. The city mayor Jean-Claude Gaudin said that pop star’s action was commendable and proved her humanity. He said, "We are very touched that a singer of her stature and talent has demonstrated such extraordinary human qualities". ANI
