New Delhi: Virat Kohli on Monday spoke about Anushka Sharma for the first time since the high-profile break up of the couple. (ICC World T20: FULL COVERAGE)
It has become the norm on social micro-blogging site Twitter to troll the Bollywood actress when the star batsman plays.
When Kohli endured a rough patch, the Twitterati blamed it on Anushka's influence on him.
Now that he is doing well, the detractors feel their point has been proven.
Kohli finally broke his silence with regards to this issue, as he slammed such people for their 'shameful' behavior towards the actress. He went on to add that she had only given him positivity.

India's Test captain also wrote a detailed post on Instagram.
Shame on those people who have been having a go at anushka for the longest time and connecting every negative thing to her. Shame on those people calling themselves educated. Shame on blaming and making fun of her when she has no control over what i do with my sport. If anything she has only motivated and given me more positivity. This was long time coming. Shame on these people that hide and take a dig. And i dont need any respect for this post. Have some compassion and respect her. Think of how your sister or girlfriend or wife would feel if someone trolled them and very conveniently rubbished them in public. #nocompassion#nocommonsense
Kohli has been in tremendous form in 2016. After a succssful tour of Australia, the right-hander was at his best in the Asia Cup as well.
The 27-year-old appears to have taken his game to the next level in the on-going ICC World Twenty20.
