New Delhi: After Sunil Gavaskar, it’s the turn of another former India skipper to call for captain MS Dhoni’s head. Controversial former spinner Bishan Singh Bedi demanded the sacking of Dhoni, saying he is too defensive as a captain. “He was never a Test skipper. He is far too negative, especially while setting fields. His success had a lot to do with providence,” Bedi was quoted as saying by HT. Bedi thinks that it’s high time to hand over the captaincy to Virat Kohli. “It is time to throw Kohli into the deep end,” he added. Bedi also criticised Indian spinners, saying that they looked more of shorter versions’ bowlers. "They look more like four-over bowlers. How many of them have been bowling 40-45 overs in Ranji Trophy? That is where you hone the skills." Earlier a few days back, Gavaskar had also said it was time the selectors look to the future as Dhoni seemed out of sorts in the England series. "I think this is something to be looked at in a positive manner because that's where the future is," Gavaskar had told NDTV.
