Pune: Pune Warriors’ Parvez Rasool has reportedly refused to endorse the name of a liquor brand on his team’s jersey citing religious sentiments. The J&K cricketer requested his team management that he be allowed to tape the logo on his jersey since it hurts his religious sentiments. The team reportedly accepted his request and allowed him to tape the logo. “I used tape to hide the logo and people were initially wondering why I was doing this. I told them that it is because my religion prohibits alcohol consumption. I can`t endorse liquor brand. For me my belief is paramount. My family is happy with the decision," Rasool was quoted as saying in a leading English daily on Sunday. Rasool, playing in his debut IPL season, wasn’t aware that the logo was of a liquor brand. However, after a few searches on the internet he realised it and decided to not endorse it on his jersey.
