Injured Watson says it’s ‘touch and go’ for Brisbane Test against Kiwis

Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has said that he might have to miss the first Test against New Zealand, beginning in Brisbane on December 1, due to his hamstring injury.

Sydney: Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has said that he might have to miss the first Test against New Zealand, beginning in Brisbane on December 1, due to his hamstring injury.
“It’s going to take a couple of weeks to get my leg right to be able to start bowling. I’ll be able to bat before I can bowl flat out,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Watson, as saying. “It’s going to be touch and go for Brisbane, but I should be right for the second Test in Hobart and build up my bowling in the next couple of weeks,” he added. Watson’s batting is strong enough to guarantee selection in the team, but he will be reluctant to risk worsening the injury while batting or running between the wickets. ANI
