According to reports, the deadlock between stadium authorities and the state administration is yet to be resolved. It was widely reported that the Tamil Nadu Municipal Corporation has claimed that three stands have been illegally constructed at the historic stadium, which is popularly known as the Chepauk.
As things stand now, the JSCA Stadium, which was allotted two of CSK`s matches including their fixture against Rajasthan Royals on May 13, is likely to host other two home matches. CSK had a home match against RCB scheduled on May 18, followed by another match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 22.
Besides, Chepauk has been given the right to host a Qualifier on May 27 and an Eliminator on May 28.
However, a final decision will be made by the IPL Governing Council on Saturday, it is revealed. And in all probability, considering the stalemate, Chennai is likely to lose the right to host a Qualifier on May 27 and an Eliminator on May 28, thus compromising Chennai fans from welcoming their team home.
