Denzel Washington surprises newlyweds

London: Hollywood heartthrob Denzel Washington put in a guest appearance at the wedding of Alistair and Caroline Nightingale, much to the surprise of the couple who were caught unawares by the star. The Academy winning actor who is set to play President

Obama in an upcoming film, saw the couple as they walked off from the chapel and decided to congratulate the newlyweds, reported a news website. "He made our day. He is a really nice guy, totally charming," said Caroline. The couple tied the knot on Italy`s Amalfi coast where Washington was holidaying with his wife, Pauletta. They were walking out of the chapel when they were spotted by the 54-year-old actor who was having lunch at a cafe with his wife. He immediately jumped up when he saw the bride and groom and raced over to congratulate them.
