London: England all-rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas is likely to face disciplinary action following his Twitter outburst on chairman of selectors Geoff Miller.
According to the ‘Daily Telegraph’ Miller was the subject of two separate posts on the Twitter page of the Hampshire all-rounder, which led to England and Wales Cricket Board launching a probe into the explosive remarks.
An ECB spokesman said: “We are aware of the tweet and we are investigating the matter.”
The outburst by Dimitri came a few days after England batsman Kevin Pietersen apologised for making a similar comments on Twitter against the national selector.
Pietersen’s outburst came after his omission from England’s squads for Twenty20 and One-day Internationals against Pakistan this month and the former skipper was fined an undisclosed sum by the ECB on Monday.
Mascarenhas is not a centrally-contracted England player but he has previously featured in ODIs and Twenty20 for the national side.
