New Delhi: 'Monkeygate' is often referred to as the worst incident to have ever occurred during an India-Australia match.
According to Andrew Symonds, Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh called him a 'monkey' during a Test match Down Under.
The two however became extremely good friends after the issue was resolved several years later not just between the two players but also their respective cricket boards.
In a recent interview with Vikram Sathaye for the What The Duck show, wicketkeeper-batsman Robin Uthappa revealed how Symonds once tried to sledge him with a 'monkey' jibe.
As the Indian was batting, Symonds shouted, ‘Hey monkey! hey monkey!’.
The Karnataka cricketer however gave him a fitting reply: “Hey Symmo, have you looked in the mirror lately?”

Considering how the strongly the Aussies protested during 'Monkeygate', one wonders how Symonds was let off the hook by Uthappa and BCCI.
