Kolkata: Argentine coach Alejandro Sabella, who checked in with his support staff this morning, is satisfied with the facilities for their international friendly against Venezuela on September 2, state sports minister Madan Mitra said on Monday.
After his meeting with the Argentine officials including Capello, Mitra said the visitors were very happy and were looking forward to play the match. "I met with the Argentine coach (Sabella) at the team hotel and he was very delighted to know that the sports minister from the state government had come to meet him. "He told me that the facilities are fantastic and exceptional. They are very happy to be here. As they could not speak properly in English, the hotel staff did the interpretation," Mitra said. Delighted at the response from the crowd, Mitra further said the city would come to a standstill on the day of the match. "All roads will lead to Yuba Bharati Krirangan," he said. About 1,20,000 spectators including a galaxy of Bollywood stars, VVIPs, sports personalities and official dignitaries will fill the stadium before the 7pm kick-off time. But to ensure that everybody outside the stadium also get a glimpse of the match, Mitra said he has plans to erect giant screen TVs at various main junctions. "We will put up giant screen TVs at various points so that nobody misses out on the match," Mitra said. PTI
