London: Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil will be forced out of competition for at least four weeks due to a hamstring strain, the club said.
The Germany international sustained the injury in the second minute of Tuesday`s Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich but played on until half-time, the club said Thursday, reports Xinhua.
The 25-year-old, Arsenal`s 42.4 million pounds record signing player last summer, will miss Sunday`s trip to Tottenham, as well as games against Chelsea, Swansea, Manchester City and Everton.
Ozil has scored six goals in 35 appearances since joining Arsenal from Real Madrid.
