London: India's Mary Kom went down to Nicol Adams 6 - 11 in the semi-final bout to settle for bronze in the women's fly category at the London Olympics 2012.

The mother of two from Manipur was completely out-boxed by the second-seeded Briton in all the four rounds (1-3, 1-2, 2-3, 2-3) to deny the Indian to enter the final of the event.

“I am sorry, couldn’t win gold or silver. I know my fans prayed and wished for me. I tried my hardest. Happy got a bronze,” she told reporters after the match.
Losing semi-finalists in Olympic boxing are awarded the bronze medal. This is India's fourth medal at the London Games, making it the highest ever medal haul for the nation.
She became the first Indian women boxer to claim an Olympic medal by entering the semifinal of women`s 51 kg category defeating Maroua Rahali of Tunisia.
The diminutive boxer from Manipur increased her weight category from 48kg to 51kg in order for her to be eligible for participation in the prestigious quadrennial event. The mother of two has been a five-time world champion in the 48kg category.
As it happened:
Round 4: Mary Kom was outpunched by Adams in the final round with a scoreline 3-2 in favour of the Briton. The overall score read 6 - 11.
Round 3: Mary Kom trailing 4-8 after three rounds. She could score only two against Adams' 3 in the thrid round.
Round 2: Adams leads by an overall score of 5-2 after the second round. Adams scored two against Mary Kom's 1 in the second round.
Round 1: Not so good result for the Indian boxer after the first round of the four-round bout. At the end of the first round, Nicola Adams leads 3-1 against Mary Kom.
