The Hyderabadi was already tipped to be a top player since her playing days in the junior circuit and came to limelight after winning the 2003 Wimbledon Championships Girls` Doubles title where she partnered Alisa Kleybanova of Russia. The 25-year-old has two Grand Slam titles to her name besides winning gold in 2006 Asian Games in Mixed Doubles. She is the first Indian women to break into the top 30 WTA rankings. In 2005, Sania became the first ever Indian woman to win a WTA title winning the AP Tourism Hyderabad Open. Sania will be partnering Leander Paes for the London Olympics in the mixed doubles event and Rushmi Chakravarthi in the women’s doubles event.
