Tintu Luka (women’s 800 meters): A prodigy to one of India’s finest athletes PT Usha, Tintu Luka is the current national record holder in 800m.

She broke the 15-year old record of Shiny Wilson only at the age of 21.

She further went on to win a bronze medal in 800m race at the Asian Games, 2010.

She also won multiple medals at the Asian Grand Prix and Asian All Stars Athletic Meet held in 2010.

Tintu qualified for the Olympics at World Athletics Championships held in September, 2011.

Though she qualified for the Games as she crossed the `B` qualifying standard of 2:01.30, her season’s best timing of 2:00.95 could not assure her a spot in the finals.
