Red Bull`s Sebastian Vettel won the race for the second consecutive year while Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso finished second and third in a 61-lap race cut short by two laps due to multiple safety car interventions.
Di Resta, whose previous best was a sixth place, challenged Alonso towards the end before coming home 3.8 seconds slower than the championship leader.
