PCA gears up to host Australia`s three-day practice match
Chandigarh: To discuss details of upcoming three-day match between Australia and Board President`s XI from September 25, officials of Punjab Cricket Association led by Secretary M P Pandove had a co-ordination meeting with M L Sharma, Director Sports (UT), here on Thursday.
Pandove, who presided over the meeting, discussed all the finer details about the conduct of the match including ground preparation, gate management, security and the rates of entry tickets.
The match would be organised by PCA for which the Union Territory administration will be providing all the facilities at Sector 16 Cricket Ground.
The ground preparation and other technical things will be looked after by the UT`s Sports Department and the PCA would provide all the supports that may be needed in terms of man power and cricketing equipments.
Pandove stated that the rates of tickets for this match have been kept very low with 80 per cent of the tickets being reserved to give three-day entry to students (Rs 30), General Block (Rs 50) and VIP Block (Rs 150) spectators.
He further stated that the BCCI will take care of the teams` stay, transport and air travel expenses.
For successful conduct of the match various committees have been put in place and he expected that it will be a hassle free game with close cooperation of the U T administration.
Pandove said that the match will give an opportunity to the cricket lovers of the region to witness some exciting contest.
The Australian team will be arriving in Chandigarh on September 20.
