Yatra to Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib goes on amid heavy rains

Heavy rains on Tuesday failed to dampen the spirit of devotees bound for Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib as yatra to the famed Himalayan shrines in Uttarakhand went on uninterrupted with the Chief Minister ordering heavier deployment of SDRF, police and administrative personnel on sensitive points along the route.

 Yatra to Badrinath was resumed today after a gap of five days with breached stretches along the highway to the Himalayan temple repaired while 80 pilgrims stranded in Ghanghariya on their way back from the Sikh shrine of Hemkund Sahib were rescued by choppers.
