Election Commission is seeking a major reform in amending the rules for candidates contesting polls. Poll panel suggested a hefty fine on the candidates vacating one of the constituencies and forcing a bypoll.

Centre asks states, UTs to end additional restrictions amid decline in cases
Centre also said that the government is changing the existing guidelines and aiming to minimise it with the "changing epidemiology of the Covid-19 virus globally." The Union Health Secretary also asked all the states and UTs to continue monitoring the trajectory of cases on a daily basis.

No patient to be denied hospitalisation, medicines: SC directs Centre, states
The Supreme Court on Sunday issued a slew of directions to the Central and state governments on the COVID-19 situation. SC directed the Centre that no patient shall be denied hospitalisation or essential drugs in any State or Union Territory for lack of local residential or identity proof.
