A day after it witnessed a sunny day, Delhi on Wednesday reeled under a severe cold wave as icy winds along with light rains swept across the city dragging the maximum temperature down by 3.6 degrees to settle at 14.7 degrees Celsius.
Delhi on Saturday recorded the second lowest temperature of the season with the mercury dipping to 4.8 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal, even as early morning dense fog affected about 50 north-bound trains.
There was no let up in the chill in Delhi Tuesday despite the day becoming sunny after a foggy start with the maximum temperature recorded five notches below average at 16.3 degrees Celsius. The met department has forecast similar weather Wednesday.
Delhiites woke up to a chilly Monday accompanied with dense fog. The minimum temperature was recorded at 4.2 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average. It was the coldest Monday in the last five years, the Met Office said.
