The Goa government has put on hold the fifth e-auctioning of iron ore, which was scheduled to be held this week, owing to falling prices in international markets.
Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday said he does not favour e-auctioning of iron ore as it burdens the state government with providing logistic support to buyers, who bid for the raw material.
To bring more transparency in the bidding process, railways have switched over completely to e-auction system for disposal of scrap eliminating need for physical bidding by purchasers.
The West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corp (WBHIDCO) is mulling introducing e-auction to sell plots at Rajarhat on the northeastern fringes of Kolkata, an official said Wednesday.
