Now Aadhaar mandatory for Jallikattu in Madurai

Chennai: The Madurai District administration on Thursday made Aadhaar mandatory for all bull tamers participating in Jallikattu event.

The annual Jallikattu game will be held in various parts of Tamil Nadu from January 14 to 16, during the harvest festival of Pongal.

Nearly 1000 bull tamers and 3,000 bulls are expected to participate in Jallikattu this year.

The new order has not gone down well with locals.

Alledging that authorities did not plan the issue of order on time and do not have adequate time to complete the required paperwork.
