Girl, trying to escape sexual assault, pushed off terrace by alleged molester

LUCKNOW: A girl, trying to escape the claws of her alleged molester, was seriously injured after the man pushed her off the terrace. The shocking incident took place in Uttar Pradesh`s Shahjahanpur on Tuesday.

The alleged accused had been harassing the girl for a while, said the victim's mother. 

On Tuesday, the man once again approached the girl. While trying to resist the sexual assault, the girl was pushed off the terrace by the man.

The police have registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and SC/ST Act. However, no arrests have been made yet. 

The girl is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Recently, the Kathua, Unnao and Surat rape cases triggered a national outrage and protests from across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also condemned incidents in the strongest terms during an event in London last week and urged the countrymen to respect women and girls.
