Hapur: 8-year-old girl hangs herself after watching a crime show with friends

Hapur: An eight-year-old girl on Wednesday committed suicide by hanging herself at her friend's residence in the Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.

According to ANI, the girl and some other children had gathered at one of their friend's house where they were playing games.

The group watched a crime show on TV and then decided to play police-police. It was then the girl suddenly hanged herself while playing and died.

Taken aback with her shocking death, the group then hid her body in the room.  

One of her friends later told the police that the girl came to their house after being scolded by her parents at home.

While a case has been registered, the police trying to determine whether it was an accidental death or the girl actually committed suicide.

The girl's parents are also being questioned.
