Police discovers suspicious object from Haridwar's Kanwar Yatra camp

Police discovers suspicious object from Haridwar's Kanwar Yatra camp

Haridwar: The Uttarakhand Police on Tuesday recovered a suspicious object from Haridwar's Kanyar Yatra camp following which a combined search operation was carried out by police personnel and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) team. 

The incident occurred at a pilgrims' camp in Bairagi.

The development took place in the month of 'Sawan', when thousands of devotees participate in Yatras that hold religious importance.

On July 10, at least eight pilgrims, heading back from Amarnath Yatra, were gunned down in a terror attack in J&K's Anantnag district.
