Keeping mum on Narada issue on party orders: Bengal Minister

Reacting to an FIR lodged by the CBI in the Narada sting case, West Bengal Rural Development Minister Subrata Mukherjee on Tuesday said he has a lot to say on the issue but is keeping quiet under party instructions.

Kolkata: Reacting to an FIR lodged by the CBI in the Narada sting case, West Bengal Rural Development Minister Subrata Mukherjee on Tuesday said he has a lot to say on the issue but is keeping quiet under party instructions.

The Trinamool Congress leader, along with a dozen others who were purportedly seen taking money in the Narada sting operation video, has been booked in the case.

"I have a lot to say on the issue but my party has decided that any official statement and action would be at the party level. So I cannot say anything on this now," Mukherjee said.

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday filed the FIR against a dozen senior leaders of the ruling Trinamool Congress and an Indian Police Service officer in the Narada case, raising the political temperature in the eastern state.

Chief Minister and party supremo Mamata Banerjee dubbed the development a "political game" and said filing of the FIR does not mean the accused are guilty.
