Delhi constable, aide arrested for sexual assault

New Delhi: A Delhi Police Constable and his associate were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 40-year-old widow in South Delhi`s Vasant Kunj area. According to the police, the woman, a resident of Dehradun has alleged that 53-year-old Anil sexually assaulted her at a hotel in Mahipalpur.

Anil`s friend Devender has been arrested under sections of criminal conspiracy. The victim has said that she knew Anil since the last three years. The Constable has been suspended and a departmental inquiry has been ordered against him, police said. "As per the victim`s complaint, she was taken to hotel Sheetal in a car by Devender. After reaching the hotel, Devender left after some time following which Anil sexually assaulted her," a police official said. A case has been registered against the duo under sections 376 and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code at Vasant Kunj North police station and further investigations are on, police said.
