1. Sanjay is a third time member of the Indian Parliament.

2. He has served two terms as MP in the Rajya Sabha and currently in the Lok Sabha representing North Mumbai. 3. He is a member of Parliamentary Committees like Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and Finance Committee. 4. He is one of the National spokespersons of the Congress Party. 5. In 1986, he moved to New Delhi and started his career as journalist. 6. In 1988, he accepted an offer from “Indian Express Group” which made him move to Mumbai. 7. In April 2005, he joined Congress as he was not getting enough attention in Shiv Sena. 8. In a very short span of time Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi appointed him as the General Secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) the State Unit of the Congress party. 9.
