Patna: 35-year-old woman sexually assaulted, dies of injuries

Patna: A 35-year-old woman died on Thursday after she was brutally assaulted following a failed rape attempt in Naubatpur in Patna district. Two men, including a 22-year-old, inserted an iron rod in her private parts after they failed to rape her on Wednesday night. 

One of the accused was arrested on Friday morning but the second one is still on the run, news agency ANI confirmed.

On Wednesday night, the duo tried to rape her but when she strongly protested, the duo hit her with a stick and shoved an iron rod into her private parts. She was taken to Patna Medical College and Hospital but succumbed to her injuries soon after she was admitted.

The 35-year-old victim was a mother of four children.
