Los Angeles: Young actor Jaden Smith, who is the son of Hollywood star couple Will and Jada Pinkett- Smith, has found a new mentor in Jackie Chan. The ``Rush Hour`` star, who co-stars with Jaden in the remake of ``The Karate Kid``, had some advice for the 12-year old star, and not just in martial arts.
Chan gave his young co-star counsel on how not to let the fact that he is the privileged child of star parents go to his head. "When it comes to stunt choreography, I have a lot of advice to give.
I showed him how he could make his moves stronger and more powerful. But I also shared many stories of hardship from my life with him.
I constantly reminded him that he should always appreciate all that he has because so many others in China have so little," said the actor. But the 56-year-old actor also was full of praise for Jaden, who has earlier starred with Will Smith in Oscar-nominated film ``Pursuit of Happyness``.
"Jaden is really versatile. He can be funny and dramatic all within minutes.
I think he is a natural actor. He always sounds sincere and real.
Everything that comes out of his mouth sounds authentic. He`s respectful, talented, hard working and charming, just like his parents," Chan said.
The film about a young student, who learns Kung Fu from a maintenance man to fight off his class bully, is releasing in India on June 11.
